A downright crazy mischievous anectode!

Blomkamp's most boring short from Oats Studios isn't outright bad, but it's too long and gives the impression that everything we see we've already seen elsewhere. It’s shame, mainly because of Sigourney Weaver.

An excellent short, definitely not one of those that would seem unnecessarily long after a few minutes. Neill Blomkamp combines Alien with The Thing, invents an extremely original monster and casts a beautifully terrified Dakota Fanning. I would like it as a feature film.

A good comedy with a whiff of the "good old days". Forty or so years ago, it would probably have starred Louis de Funès, and today it could be a classic in the vein of The Exchange Student.

NON-STOP 2. Again, initially a promisingly mysterious film, which gradually drowns in the strange behavior of probably all the characters, and which Liam Neeson probably didn't enjoy much, either. The big plus was ensured by an absolutely amazing “guitarist" brawl, whilst big minus for the digital finale that wasn't really the finale.

Martin McDonagh was able to write and film something great again. And that could actually end my commentary, because the less you know about the film, the more you will enjoy it. I like these beautifully unreadable stories in which something totally unexpected can happen at any moment, and I was amazed when I could watch the great Frances McDormand and, as always, the excellent and again completely different Sam Rockwell. And that’s it, I’m done.

The excellent Gary Oldman (he is not lost at all under the mask, in fact acting not only with his eyes, but also his vocal cords, all his chins, and so on) and other actors headed by Kristin Scott Thomas and Ben Mendelsohn, Wright's direction adorned with a number of attractive shots... And at times, sadly, a bit of a boring script with a rather tacky scene on the subway that would have been even worse without Oldman. I admit that was expecting “second Lincoln" from Darkest Hour, the subject matter is very similar, but even though I didn't get that, it was definitely a good two hours.

Many new TV films have extreme promotions... The result is awkward at best. And then seemingly from nowhere appears My Uncle Archimedes, a pleasantly human spectacle with a perfect central pair that could easily have been another burdensome communist drama, but fortunately, it is not. It endeavored to be a comedy, it has meticulously written dialogues and lighthearted escape scenes almost like from 'Allo 'Allo!, and thus the endeavor paid off.

The weekly TV spacing between both episodes of Můj obchod se psy is rather damaging because it directly forces the viewer to compare. Had I seen both episodes immediately after each other, perhaps I would not want to highlight the fantastic Petr Nárožný in the first one, and I would not be slightly disconcerted by the generous space given to Pavel Zedníček in the second. But the main thing is how impeccably Oldřich Kaiser handled the tricky role of Jaroslav Hašek and how he was able to portray it despite being about as similar as Tom Hanks is to Masaryk.

Unfortunately, I was bored, and I love pretty much everything this film is about. There’s nothing you can do.
