Lucky Luke (2009)

angol About halfway through, it's classic comic book Lucky Luke with all the trappings of a feature film, and it's a joy to watch. Not only because of the precise Jean Dujardin and the many jokes, but also because of the beautiful production design and direction, which plays beautifully with every shot. But then Luke hangs up his gun and it goes downhill. With the romantic plot comes a completely different kind of humor, suddenly it drags and only the ending corrects the impression a bit. It's a shame, because if the whole film had the level of the first half, it could have been on par with the second feature Asterix, and quite possibly could have competed with Lemonade Joe.

Szabotőr (1942)

angol Some scenes that are really flawless, but a few of them are too naive, and the main character's performance was unbearably dull, and the atmosphere was spoiled a couple of times by overly romantic and inappropriate music. The ending, on the other hand, was superb.

Maigret - Maigret csapdát állít (2016) (epizód)

angol An honest old-fashioned period crime film, full of tobacco smoke and starring the simply superb Rowan Atkinson, who I hope will now be showered with offers of character roles. His Maigret is one hundred percent Maigret - sad, quiet and stubborn, just as he should be, and if anyone wants to compare him to Jean Gabin, they can do so without any problem, because it won't be the least bit unfair. This movie just made me very happy.

Maniac (2012)

angol A particularly nasty film that relies too much on all that unscrupulous violence for my taste. I can't deny it a truly evocative atmosphere that gave me a headache, and good music, but otherwise I wasn't too impressed with this modern Norman Bates. The similarity to Drive is purely coincidental.

Mr Bean: Funeral (2015)

angol Mr. Bean and black humor always went together. And if this "man" breaks into a funeral, it inevitably cannot end well. Yes, we've seen the sniffling before, for example, but it's still terribly funny, and Bean in particular is still the cheeky overgrown kid who isn't afraid - literally this time - to go over dead bodies to get his way, whatever that may be. It's a shame there was only an eight-minute episode and not a full episode, because Rowan Atkinson is clearly still at home in his most famous character.

A pénteki barátnő (1940)

angol It wasn't until about twenty minutes in that I realized that I was actually watching the original to Billy Wilder's famous remake, and that's when comparing the two versions made me enjoy the film even more. The newer men's version of The Front Page wins in the end, though, because it's funny from start to finish and doesn't have such a protracted denouement as His Girl Friday, which, thanks to Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell, is also a male-female struggle, but a rather pointless one.

Eszeveszett mesék (2014)

angol Wild Tales that get the nerves flowing, strain to bursting and they do burst, but the cynical diaphragm also comes into its own. The driver war clearly won it for me, but I can't say that the other stones in this black-humored mosaic were much worse. True, I would have liked it even more if the writer/director had also interwoven the stories in other ways than the ubiquitous insanity, but that's probably the only flaw I noticed.___P.S. If I were to watch Falling Down now (which I was reminded of by the short story with a pyrotechnician), it might not end well with my surroundings.

Sherlock - A Reichenbach-vízesés (2012) (epizód)

angol Thrilling, what else can I say? What I enjoyed the most was the very dramatic and emotional ending, which managed to get on my nerves even though I am a fan of Conan Doyle and I already knew what would (and also wouldn’t) happen.

Batman Superman ellen - Az igazság hajnala (2016)

angol When I came back from the movie theatre, I wrote that this film probably has everything and I wouldn't be angry if there was even more. And there's even more in the extended version! And the movie is definitely great because of it! Ben Affleck thoroughly enjoys Batman, Wonder Woman is an amazon as she should be, Henry Cavill really looks like he's from another planet (but in a good way, of course), Jesse Eisenberg doesn't bother me, the action knows the measure, and thanks to Zack Snyder it all has a lot of great moments. For example, the scene in which Batman beats Superman with his fist, but who gradually regains his strength, made me want to clap with excitement.___P.S. Just those subtitles by Kateřina Hámová... I don't understand why the good woman keeps translating so strangely (for example, she says "devil" is not "devil", but "demon") and why she puts completely different words in the characters' mouths, many times perhaps in order to explain something that doesn't need to be explained.

Sherlock - A sátán kutyái (2012) (epizód)

angol A very interesting adaptation of the original work, which everyone knows, but it was spoiled a bit by two things that were a bit too convoluted for my taste - the coincidence with the luminous rabbit and P.S.I.S.K.O.... Really far-fetched. Otherwise, it's a good game in all aspects with a completely different atmosphere than the previous episodes.
