Tök alsó (1999)

angol Rob Schneider is the king of this kind of shit, and I think it's one of his best films, along with The Hot Chick. Just as funny, just as stupid, and those who like these types of humour will be delighted, while those who condemn this in every movie like Grown Ups will yawn. That's why I don't understand why the individuals in question watch it and then rate it a Boo! rating.

Polaroid (2015)

angol An inoffensive horror affair that entertains but at the same time doesn't thrill, and I see no reason to give it more than an average rating.

Hang nélkül 2 (2020)

angol A rather difficult film to rate, it can be seen from two diametrically opposed perspectives. From one, we see the excellent and meticulous John Krasinski behind the camera, he is flawless from a technical or visual point of view, the monsters are amazing, the sound design is the most intense in years, it serves us heart attack scares every 10 minutes and the action is uncompromising. What it lags on, however, is the story, which doesn't really move forward, doesn't explain the origin or explore the monsters any further, and is a little too rushed towards the end, but all of which can be forgiven provided you completely switch off and just enjoy the cinematic high after almost a year of enforced cinema abstinence. The second point of view is the one in which we look at the film more closely and find that nothing much actually makes real sense: the generally soundless world, the birth of the baby, the broadcasting of a song instead of simply saying "come to the island", the sometimes strange behaviour of the characters and some things that simply cannot be done in silence... This is exactly why it is necessary to switch off completely, not think and just watch. But trying really hard, sometimes I just can't let go and it forces me to give "only" a four-star rating, which is also probably the most objective rating of the whole film and others are not even much worth considering – not enough for a five, but a very good film experience for a three. Anyway, the feelings are positive and for me it is a class better than the first part.

A bolygónk jövőjének tudománya (2021)

angol Visually breathtaking and informatively excellent again and again, just like the first part by Richard Attenborough. But seems to me that all these documentaries are about the same thing over and over again and there's nothing left to say. On the other hand, although I'm no fan of climate change activists, I have to say that the documentary makes me a bit sad and the worst thing is that normal people can't do anything about it anyway and the problem should be seen differently, especially from the eyes of those who run the world. Visually and technically excellent, with information that has been rehashed hundreds of times, but still just as effective...

Milk Teeth (2020)

angol An above-average children's horror film about a tooth fairy who gives kids in an orphanage money in exchange for their teeth. Cleverly combined horror elements along with (by the standards of shorts) quality filmmaking, a decent looking monster, an offbeat idea and a fine child actor in the lead role.

A Grönholm-módszer (2005)

angol After an excellent start in the first half, where we are introduced to each candidate and the subsequent selection method, I was excited. The story smacked of originality, the tasks were interesting and the psychological terror was ramping up nicely. But the problem comes with the second half, where the writers seem to have completely run out of ideas, the story flounders in place for a long time, the tasks have already turned into stereotypical boredom, and overall the film cuts on the purely psychological line, but completely forgets about building atmosphere, action, suspense or is afraid to push the envelope in any way. Then the ending let me down completely because it didn't really tell us anything and just slammed the door behind the film. It's a great shame, I was expecting something more from a Spanish production like this and the potential was there, but the way they dropped the ball will bother me for a long time to come...

Xtrém (2021)

angol I'm not sure how anyone can compare this to John Wick. The action is fairly decent, but everything around it is pretty crappy. B-move actors, the creators aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, the visuals are mediocre, the story is terribly stupid, but what bothered me the most is how shallow and uninteresting the main characters are. For the first hour I was waiting for a significant immersion in the plot, but unfortunately that didn't happen and I suffered through the rest. The Spaniards should stick to what they are good at...
