An excellent, stylishly polished gem from the workshop of Tim Burton, and one of the best films of the entire decade. It is a comedy and, paradoxically, a tribute to the art of filmmaking and film enthusiasts of all kinds. The film has a superb cast and performances, an excellent screenplay, and offers up many incredibly funny scenes that will stay in one's memory. Although the film was not there at the beginning of the legend of Ed Wood, it significantly contributed to its spread and the creation of a certain cult around this genius in the director's chair. The success of the film was greatly aided by the chameleon actor, Johnny Depp, in the lead role, who gave his character an irresistible charm. Overall impression: 95%.

I think that the current rating on FilmBooster is somewhat influenced by nostalgia because this detective series was broadcast during a time when there was very little quality television production, so it could have become a certain cult series. In any case, the series does have a decent atmosphere and tension. It is a slower, more intimate matter that will not satisfy action enthusiasts. Overall impression: 70%.

Both the book and animated film are excellent. It is a classic that will not be surpassed even by the most modern animated family films from Pixar'. Overall impression: 90%. A satirical allegory about how revolutions quickly rot and former revolutionaries can easily become new masters.

There is one positive thing I have to admit about this film. Out of the three sequels about the indestructible agent, it is the best one, but I have a problem with the whole series, just as I have a problem with the majority of action movies. It is simply an unrealistic fairy tale, where you need to turn off your brain and not think about the numerous holes in the logic. Unlike the series of James Bond films, it lacks style and humorous exaggeration. The third part is the most mature in terms of filmmaking, but paradoxically it lacks a truly worthy opponent compared to the previous two films. Philip Seymour Hoffman is a great actor, but he doesn't get enough space and the script doesn't demonize him enough, and if it weren't for the betrayal, he would play a rather embarrassing role as a quickly defeated opponent. If someone is to stand up to such a brilliant invincible agent like Ethan Hunt and the American Secret Service equipped with hi-tech technology, it must be truly a devil in human form, who aims at least, but I emphasize at least, to take over the world... Overall impression: 45%.

It is indeed a masterpiece of German cinema and the success of the film meant a significant revival in the German film industry of the 90s. I can't claim that I didn't like it - after all, 4 stars indicate that it entertained me at the time, but I still get the feeling that it is somewhat overrated. One positive aspect is the combination of dying with black humor and a positive effort to make the most of every minute of one's life. On the other hand, the humor, which has its great moments, fluctuates and there are also awkward moments, especially toward the end, when Rutger Hauer appears. Then there's the topic itself, which can be considered calculated, which may not be true but also cannot be refuted. Of course, there are much worse versions of tear-jerking sentimental films, so I wouldn't blame Knockin' on Heaven's Door for that. However, I do believe that Thomas Jahn is not a talented director, as his whole career ultimately shows, and he only managed to match the tastes and expectations of the audience in one case. Overall impression: 70%.

The original comics were great. They were aimed more at adult readers with their cynical humor, and although the creators of the animated series have kept the basic outline with all the characters, they have shifted toward non-conflicting family entertainment aimed at a child audience. It's not bad, but it's completely different than what I had hoped for. Overall impression: 50%. The uniqueness has simply vanished, and we are left with routine and mainstream.

Despite all efforts and good intentions, films like this are about the most boring thing that can appear on a movie theater screen or television, outside of the circle of fans of the person. It is simply a biographical film, which is shot without proper distance with a certain amount of pathos and idealization of the character it focuses on. The person disappears and the institution of the papal throne is worshipped. Catholics will naturally be satisfied, but others have no reason to waste time with it. Karol Wojtyla was truly an exceptional person, and if the screenwriter and director could have humanized him, it could have been a truly interesting work. Overall impression: 40%.

When it comes to the Disney style, then I'd rather see the original because this is just a pale imitation, even worse with the fact that the quality of the dialogue is terrible. Overall impression: 25%.

I accepted Otakáro Maria Schmidt as a somewhat eccentric moderator, but after this feature film, I wouldn't trust him with directing even a stupid soap opera. this was a completely mishandled experiment that looks like its creator was tripping... Overall impression: 15% for the colors and Zuzana Stivínová...

It's worth a decent three stars, but I have to say that this time, Zdeněk Svěrák's "bitter" humor seemed a bit "tired" and unremarkable to me. Czech cinema is currently in decline and among various nonsense, the professionalism of the Svěrák family tandem naturally stands out, but seen from a broader perspective, it's nothing to boast about. The song by Jaroslav Uhlíř, underlining the nostalgic mood, will probably stick in my memory the most. Overall impression: 60%.
