Farkasokkal táncoló (1990)

angol Kevin Costner excelled in 1990 with serious genius, when he was able to direct and mostly act in something like this, his best film. John Barry composed one of the best soundtracks of all time, and the script was also top-notch. All the Oscars are well-deserved, and a touching ending. An epic masterpiece that defined modern westerns.

Száguldó erőd (1995)

angol Probably the best Seagal movie. It has great action, brutal moves, fantastic music, and very good stunts. Additionally, the final scene in the war cemetery is very iconic. Casey Ryback standing in his shiny white uniform with his niece over her father's grave, it always occurs to me that we actually see Seagal in the last good shot, in the last good movie.

Nincs bocsánat (1992)

angol A nicely shot western that has entered history as one of the most genuine and raw in its genre. Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman deliver masterful performances, with the brutal Gene Hackman skillfully supporting them (Oscar). In addition to all of this, there is perfect camera work, brilliant editing, and a final epilogue at sunset.

Bérgyilkosok (1995)

angol A thrilling battle between Sylvester Stallone and Antonio Banderas. The former’s wooden acting skillfully served him this time. But what deserves the biggest praise is Banderas' performance. He is so devilish and charismatic at the same time that he instills fear. He just looks at you and his expression says more than 10 words from Stallone. These brilliantly contrasting actors, however, clash in a film that loses steam towards the end. The window scene is still alright, but the final surprise could have been left out. Nevertheless, it is still an enjoyable flick.

Kill Bill (2003)

angol There is a certain dose of exaggeration and typically Tarantino humor that the viewer must embrace right from the beginning, otherwise the film be a lousy experience. Tarantino is firmly in control and directs the way he wants, which is, of course, evident in the result. The whole film carries an excellent atmosphere, enhanced by perfectly tuned exteriors and brilliantly interwoven music. Kill Bill fulfills all the film elements to the fullest but it may happen that a more conservatively inclined viewer won’t find their way to it and will not like it. It was also very interesting to see Uma Thurman, who underwent intense training for this role and it is truly visible. Tarantino plays with visual composition, constructs dialogues well, and overall the film is more captivating with a plethora of references and clever tricks, rather than a basic message as such, which is truly simple.

G.I. Jane (1997)

angol Probably the worst action scenes in the modern history of high-budget action films. I have never seen anything so unbelievably unbelievable and half-assed this decade. It's even more disappointing that it's from one of the best, Ridley Scott. I'm referring, of course, to the only real action scene with live ammunition at the end. The training is interesting, cool, and exciting, Demi Moore's companions are the right animals, and Masterchief Viggo Mortensen is a brutal tough guy.

Forrest Gump (1994)

angol One of the most beautiful and poetic films of all time. Plus, there's Robin Wright, whom I have become outrageously fond of through this film, a brilliant Tom Hanks, and excellent music. A film full of philosophy and ideas.

Batman és Robin (1997)

angol Compared to the first films, the director turned it into nothing more than a funny farce with good visual effects and a star-studded cast. The atmosphere is gone and so is the darkness. The plot is laughable, but on the other hand, George Clooney is okay, Chris O'Donnell fits the role of Robin, and there is also the beautiful female duo of Uma Thurman and Alicia Silverstone. But Joel Schumacher almost killed the Batman franchise.
