The Revenge of Robert (2018) Boo!

angol If you want to watch the British film The Legend of Robert the Doll, you might want to think twice about your decision. This is essentially not a film worth watching because it absolutely deserves the negative reviews that it’s been getting. There isn't a single element here that's worth paying attention to, which is pretty tragic for a film that could have at least impressed with special effects.

Screaming Skull (1958)

angol If you like old horror films of an almost gothic nature, I think The Screaming Skull is one that might interest you for a little while. Indeed, it's not a great gem, it's not a film you'll remember for the rest of your life, but it's still an enjoyable retro film that kept me entertained with its interesting focus and its efforts to build atmosphere. It was quite good in places.

Child Eater (2016)

angol The American-Icelandic horror film Child Eater doesn’t try to take an outright new approach to horror, but rather it's a film that wants to scare you with what it depicts. I think it does a pretty good job of it to some extent. There are scenes that are very unpleasant to see, which was the main reason the film was made in the first place. In that case, the creators succeeded.

Éjféli etetés (2008)

angol The Midnight Meat Train tries a little too hard than it really needs to when it comes to its script, but it makes up for it with two facts: the great Vinnie Jones, who was simply perfect for the role, and then the special effects, where the flesh and blood really give the impression that you are in a slaughterhouse. A filthy human slaughterhouse. Of course, when a woman hangs by her legs, her breasts hang too...

The Lingering (2018)

angol Unfortunately, The Lingering tries to please in that it doesn't shy away from using digital special effects, which doesn't always work. I get the feeling that it's not quite working in this film. The film is much better when there's nothing going on that includes special effects - at least in terms of the visuals it's overall more enjoyable to watch. Otherwise, this is a mediocre ghost story that isn’t very impressive.

The Witch Files (2018)

angol I'd almost like to say that the American film The Witch Files is a horror film for teenagers, but in fact, I wouldn't say that it’s horror at all. It's only a movie about young witches that probably wants to be a little grittier than it ends up being. Even if you look at the advertising, it's pretty clear that this isn't going to be horror, that this is going to be young adult fantasy. And that's exactly what it is. Unfortunately, overall, there’s not much to it.

Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man (1951)

angol The American comedy film Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man is mainly based on the acting of the two main protagonists. They've become so comfortable that the interaction simply works and their humor is both situational and verbal. There is a lot of slapstick, which is fine by me, and in Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man, the humor is aided by some excellent special effects.

Jack Goes Home (2016)

angol Thomas Dekker is known mainly as an actor, but in his second directorial effort, he has shown that he is capable of directing a film. He doesn't act in the film, which is quite sympathetic. He gave space to others and they did exactly what they were supposed to do, and that is to make a strongly depressing film that somehow manages to impress the viewer. In my opinion, this was greatly successful.

Fear Island (2009) (Tévéfilm)

angol The American horror film Fear Island is a film you watch because you've seen all the other slasher movies and you aren't even hoping to find something good and original, because that's simply not an option here. Sure, there's a basic story here, it almost looks like it could be suspenseful at times, but in the end it's a casual and slightly boring spectacle with no real surprises.

Kurutta ippêji (1926)

angol The Japanese film A Page of Madness is about impressions. It's a film you'll watch because the act of watching it can leave something in you. There are images here that are surreal even today - it's like a work of art that simply doesn't get old and that is to some extent a kind of depressing depiction of a time or a particular event. From the opening credits, the Japanese are hitting you hard and it works all the way through.
