"The Carriers" is not a movie that I would describe as absolutely great, but it portrays the heaviness of the presented world absolutely brilliantly, and it gives you the right, depressing feeling that you should have from all of it. There are disasters and disasters, and this one is really bad because a really small mistake is enough and you have no way to fight back. You can't defeat this infection with a baseball bat.

"Missed Call II" is an example of how sequels are often made purely for the sake of having a sequel and to extract more money from viewers. There is no other effect here. Horror scenes, especially jump scares, are copied from the previous film or from other Japanese horrors of its time, and the movie gradually becomes too long and too boring to be able to hold the viewer's attention and provide that enjoyable chill down the spine.

I wouldn't have learned much about that person otherwise, but that document didn't really impress me that much. However, it's nice how calmly they can talk about tragic events, but at the same time, you feel a strong message from them and you have a sense that the person lived and died for something that made sense. Carl Boenish won't be my hero, but he was cool.

For me, this film is quite a good calculation. It was expected that the series "Spooks", known in Czech as "MI5", is one of those that are quite well-known and popular. Jon Snow, sorry, Kit Harington is a favorite of one generation, and on top of that, there is a slightly more intense approach to the action thriller, which is something that interests the modern generation. It's like a cheaper version of "Mission: Impossible". And yeah, it's not much more than that.

I think that the Native American environment is one that is currently very unexplored, so it is good that a film is being made or comics are being written about it. Native American reservations have their own life and are just an example of how much damage white people have caused and the consequences of their behavior. This is not about why something is wrong but how bad it can be. Harsh and sometimes very difficult to swallow.

"Under the Influence" is a very intense movie, but not only because of the great performances, but also because of the incredible direction, where John Cassavetes was able to enhance every moment you watch on the screen unbelievably. What may seem like a regular dinner turns into a psychological drama in his rendition, from which you want to escape. This film will leave a strong impression on you.

I might appreciate it more if I had a slightly longer relationship with the characters, but I've never seen the series, so I wanted to try the film adaptation. It reminded me a lot of something that could come from the creators of "The Simpsons". But I have to admit that there was some humor that worked, as well as the craziness that the whole story had.

But okay, I'll be a little nice because I actually liked this idea overall. The premise itself is fun, it's just a shame that it turned into a fairly ordinary romantic movie with a standard progression. Once again, it's saved by quite pleasant and bearable heroes, whom you actually want to watch and don't mind following their fate.

When you think that something could come at the end that will get you, something that will at least slightly shift the balance in favor of quality, suddenly it's over and really nothing significant happened. "Death of the Virgin" is just an attempt to make an atmospheric horror movie, but without the creators having any idea of what they actually want to shoot. The horror is disappearing from horror movies, but that even applies to those specifically focused on atmosphere, which is just sad.

Nearly amateur sci-fi that wants to show that it has what it takes. I don't mean in terms of special effects, because there aren't really any tricks here, but in terms of storytelling. This is one of those films that tries to say that it has something to say. And here and there, it even succeeds a little, if only it didn't fall into the clichés of classic sci-fi. The original idea fades away from it.
