The Devil's Cabaret (1930)

angol The Devil's Cabaret is a nice little playful film. It doesn't work particularly well as a musical; there's no memorable melody, but it works thanks to its set design and the humor added to the film. There are some fun ideas here, and you can see how it's all nicely lightened up. Plus, it's nice and short.

Ernest Rides Again (1993)

angol This did not turn out well. Ernest may be the lead and it's all about him and his antics, but apart from a few scenes this really isn't funny. It's as if the filmmakers were struggling and didn't know what to come up with, just filling scenes with bad gags and stupid crap. I'm curious to see how the next installments in this series handle this.

Dead Again in Tombstone (2017)

angol Danny Trejo is just right for this role, but in his portrayal, it's definitely not a classic western; rather, it's a somewhat blase, B-movie action film that seems a bit low-budget, but honestly, that didn't bother me much. Western movies with horror elements don't work very well, but with this one, you'd expect it to be kind of mediocre, worse even.

Kamukém (2001)

angol Jackie Chan can definitely do better, or rather his films can be better, especially script-wise. The Accidental Spy definitely deserves credit for its classically excellent action sequences, where Jackie once again excels, often with dance-like moves rather than just martial arts. Yet martial arts is also a dance.

Hivatali karácsony (2016)

angol It could have been even funnier, but there are such hillbilly characters here that sometimes they just annoyed me. Jennifer Aniston is a bit boring, but her character is poorly written in terms of development. On the other hand, Olivia Munn is always beautiful and I just can't get enough of her. I enjoyed every scene with her, she even made me laugh.

A szerető (1992)

angol If it were just a tad more daring and visible, it would be even better. If it had been stronger towards the end and the viewer didn't feel like it was already starting to fizzle out by then. Then I would say The Lover is a great film, but as it is, it ended up falling slightly short of greatness. Still, I think Annaud had a very good theme and he handled it well.

Az ügyfél (2016)

angol A great example of how Iranian film looks like now and could continue to look like. By the way, it's a genre film that reminds me of the beginnings of Brian De Palma or something slightly Hitchcockian, although in a much more realistic and theatrical execution. This film deserves praise.

Poor Albert and Little Annie (1972)

angol The psychological slasher I Dismember Mama has one major problem, which is its visual quality. You can see that the film didn't have a very large crew, so there were no lighting people left to add some light to the scenes, and so many of the interiors are very dark and the image just fades away. It's a shame because the women here appear naked and are really beautiful, at least as far as I can tell. As an idea, I like the film, but the execution is worse.

The Harvesting (2019)

angol The Harvesting is a bit of a safe bet. The actors may not be that terrible, but the film as a whole doesn't work as a horror, which is quite a problem for a horror movie. It works more like a light drama, with grittier elements here and there, but nothing really happens that would engage the viewer in any way. It's a shame about the wasted setting.

The Coven (2015)

angol The Coven is not even slightly explicit; it's not a film that would satisfy any of your horror cravings, just a cheap movie about girls going camping in the woods and things going a bit awry. The Coven may not be found footage, but if I were to compare it to the horror film The Blair Witch Project, which I don't like, The Blair Witch Projectat least has some atmosphere. The Coven has none.
