A Nap árnyékában (2015)

angol Even in North Korea, under the regime's watch, it is possible to make a documentary that is honest enough. All you have to do is have a little courage, not be afraid to have the camera on, and hope that the North Koreans have no idea what editing can do when you know to handle a camera. It’s an interesting insight into a country where you know full well that things are not right with the people.

Violette (2013)

angol This is one of the more interestingly made biopics, in the sense that I thought it was accessible to the audience, that it's not unnecessarily pathetic or unnecessarily dramatic, and that it all kind of follows from the situation. Unfortunately, that doesn't change the fact that I didn't enjoy Violette Leduc's life story and found it overly long.

Viva la libertá - Éljen a szabadság! (2013)

angol Toni Servillo is such an interesting actor that you'll enjoy Long Live Freedom, even though much more could have been made from the subject matter and the overall concept of political criticism through a double. Nevertheless, it's a pretty clever comedy about how politics is actually dirty, but you can really do wonders with it.

Szeretteink körében (2016)

angol With such an ensemble of actors, the filmmakers could have shown us a little more than they did. Krasinski isn't a bad actor, but as a director he has taken a substance that at first glance seems like a sure thing to be lightened up, but in the end, it's actually not a sure thing, it's not a good comedy, and it's more akin to a waste of time.

Veronica (1972)

angol This is a beautifully quirky family film, especially in the sense of how it's made with animal characters, yet so great in how it's handled as a musical, making it definitely an experience worth having. I don't know if today's kids will take to it, but I watched it with excitement. The music had me spellbound.

Az ítélet (1974)

angol This is a strong film with two great actors, or rather one actor and one actress, in the lead roles. Jean Gabin is classically distant and unapproachable here, and Sophia Loren also plays a character who is not very approachable, and yet she is much more emotive. We can then add to that a strong story that has a very good finale that takes hope away.

The Ghoul (1933)

angol I found The Ghoul to be average for its time. It is currently a horror film that just can't work anymore. Not only because it doesn't contain horror scenes, but also because it is very shallow and doesn't surprise the viewer with anything. The story even seems drawn out. But given the context of the time, I still find the film relatively passable.

Verbo (2011)

angol I like weird films and Verbo is definitely a weird film. On the one hand, it’s realistic, but on the other, imagination is involved that is rather darker in nature. I'm not saying the story is outright good, it's not, but the visuals do have something to them that makes this an interesting experience.

Az ember, aki mindent tudott (2016)

angol When you come across a film like this, you either turn it off after a few minutes or you enjoy its bizarreness from start to finish. For example, I enjoyed the perverted yet great ideas from start to finish. This is really the type of film that you don't see every day, so I have to recommend it, because you probably won't see many films like it.

Věra 68 (2012)

angol This is definitely an interesting documentary. It doesn't show us anything new, but it shows us one of the most important Czech sports personalities who definitely deserves to be remembered. It's interesting how one person's life can have highs and lows and various twists and turns that are unexpected and strange.
