13. komnata - 13. komnata Zdeny Studenkové (2017) (epizód)

angol If these shows are structured in such a way that they just illustrate the commentary that a person prepares about himself, then that's fine. Who better to talk about the childhood, private life, and marriage of this or that actor than he himself? I'm glad Studenková got this opportunity. Her work is very eloquent and her guest appearances in Prague studios have always lit up films. Today, I am retrospectively filling in her Slovak roles and I am satisfied. Studenková is an ideal representative of the generation when Czech-Slovak music made sense. Today, surprisingly, this appears as something new, but it is not.

Az álzsidó (avagy az Igazi nyomában) (2012)

angol Okay, this is an explicitly weaker affair, but also seriously packed with all-time tv favorites. There's the beautiful and lovely JLH, her Ghost Whisperer partner Camryn Manheim, her Hot in Cleveland pal Wendie Malick, Nicollette Sheridan from Desperate Housewives, Ivan Sergei from Once a Thief, and last but not least Jon Lovitz, a veteran from the Married... with Children days. That's all I'd look for in it. It’s a low-budget, unfunny comedy for those of you who like unfunny comedies with familiar faces.

Lakat alatt (1996)

angol This is a relaxed 90s family comedy from small-town America. Plus a super sexy teenage Jenn Love. She’s spicy and is already well on her way. Sometimes these old-school affairs can make me really happy.

Bárcsak (2004)

angol I was looking for a proper romcom with JLH until I found this. I don't quite understand the equation, because to be very romantic it has to take place in England (?!), but she's just a little hottie. A darling that makes this genre worth accepting. I'd almost like to try and watch more Meg Ryan movies sometime. That's how much magic our Love Hewitt can have :) And here he has some nice songs of her own, "Love Will Show You Everything" and "Take My Heart Back". This reminds me that she's not growing her singing career enough for my taste, but when she does, it's worth it.

Esküdt ellenségek: Különleges ügyosztály (1999) (sorozat)

angol It was excellent as a series to watch occasionally. Of the endless jumble of TV crime series, this one has a different theme and makes the investigation less routine. They did a good job with it. The one I come back to most often is Jennifer Love Hewitt hosting.

Ördögi út a boldogsághoz (2003)

angol The roots of the book that this was adapted from can be found with Faust and Washington Irving, with follow-up work in Archibald MacLeish and the musical "Scratch." Among the film adaptations, All That Money Can Buy (1941), which adapts Benet's Faust for the first time, is worthy of note. A now we finally get Shortcut to Happiness? It's not a very good debut from Baldwin as a director. The tug-of-war with the producers was apparently meant to result in a second Bedazzled. Although this does have an all-star cast, especially the excellent and devilish Jenn Love, the story will have to wait for another adaptation to be sufficiently rehabilitated.

Játszik még a szív (2005)

angol All in all, it’s an average romcom with a British touch (which I don't like much). If it weren't for the adorable Jenn Love and her accent, it would be weaker. It's a joy to see the transformations she makes with her character. For fans of Jenn Love, it’s a safe bet, and for everyone else, it’s a regular affair that doesn't offend.

Gloriett a hullának (1986) (Tévéfilm)

angol Ustinov's Hercule Poirot and Ariadne Oliver make a good pair. The TV conceptualization is weaker, but it does have a certain dynamism. Everything they filmed with Ustinov was then repeated by Suchet, so the viewer can choose, but at least this era made Agatha's Belgian truly indispensable. Let's remember how hard it was for him to work his way into the consciousness of filmmakers for the first forty years.

Tizenhárman vacsorára (1985) (Tévéfilm)

angol With the transition from the big screen to television, Poirot films with Ustinov faced the question of how to keep people’s attention. And the momentary idea of the update was really not a good idea. It lacks the proverbial punch or at least the attempt at the (inter)war atmosphere that defines Agatha's work. The original 1933 novel "Lord Edgware Dies" was not a suitable substance for experimentation. However, we do have the rare casting of Suchet in a supporting role. But I'd love to see the original Lord Edgware Dies (1934) with Austin Trevor. It's the only thing that could bring me peace.

Nyaraló gyilkosok (1982)

angol What more can I add? The 1941 novel suffers somewhat herein from sloppy sets and costumes, which is typical. Peter Ustinov is quite likable as Poirot for the second time. What's great is Cole Porter's soundtrack. Maggie Smith is pleasant.
