Won Ho-yeon (b. 1975) began his professional career at a small independent production company that provided services to Korean news broadcasters. Since 2000 he has directed twelve episodes of “Life Theater,” the most popular Korean docu-drama series. After spending four years working at docu-dramas, Won Ho-yeon longed to make a writer-director documentary with a strong story and characters – the result is his feature-length debut Captain Kang, which was three years in the making.
