Alejandra Sánchez

Documentary filmmaker.  She received a BA in communication sciences from the Autonomous Metropolitan University of Mexico (UAM) and graduated from the CUEC-UNAM film school. Her feature film debut Bajo Juárez, la ciudad devorando a sus hijas, won numerous national and international awards for best documentary. Her work has participated in festivals such as IDFA, Sundance, and PÖFF, winning over 32 national and international prizes and accolades. Her films focus on themes like femicide, clerical pederasty, and the feminist movement. She is a member of SNCA.
