JULIAN ROFFMAN was born in Montreal. He served on the production staff of the March of Time newsreel from 1934 to 1938 before joining the National Film Board in 1940, where he directed several documentary shorts. He subsequently directed the feature films The Bloody Brood (59) and The Mask (61), the latter being the first Canadian feature marketed extensively in the United States.
