Alberto Gastesi Jáuregui shot his first short film at the age of thirteen. Shortly afterwards he enrolled in the "Detrás de la cámera" film programme for teens at the Larrotxene Cultural Centre in San Sebastian and directed Tranpantojo (2000), his second short, winner of an award at Cinema Jove, amongst other competitions. Since then, he has directed Itsmo (2011), Ekaitza (2012), Mapa del tiempo olvidado (2014), Alejandra (2015), Miroirs (2016), Cactus (2018) and Las vacaciones (2019), selected for several festivals. Gelditasuna ekaitzean (The Stillness in the Storm) is his first feature film.
