After obtaining a PhD in Philosophy, Javier landed in Filmmaking. A selection of his work has been funded and awarded in the past by Prince Claus Fund, FONCA and JUMEX Collection, DAAD Fellowship, among others. Potientae is his first solo feature documentary film as Director.
