Alex Familian was raised between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. He got his start as an assistant editor at Killer Films for Academy Award-nominated editor Joseph Klotz (Precious, Motherless Brooklyn). Alex has gone on to direct, produce, edit, and/or VFX supervise commercial work for White Castle, Impossible Foods, and Ford, and music videos for Solange, Bon Jovi, and Brian Wilson. He has had projects premiere at Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, Fantasia, and more. In 2021, Alex edited & produced Appendage - a short horror film directed by Anna Zlokovic - with 20th Digital Studios and Hulu. The film had its festival premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival in the Midnight Shorts category. The feature film version of Appendage, also edited and produced by Alex, premiered at SXSW 2023.
