Nick Read EMMY- és BAFTA és Oscar díjra jelölt brit filmrendező több mint 50 filmje közül többet is távoli vagy veszélyes helyszínen forgatott. (Inside Israel’s Jails, Slumdog Children of Mumbai, The Condemned, stb.). Munkáival elnyerte a Rory Peck Impact Awardot és a Creative Diversity Awardot, valamint kétszer a Foreign Press Association Awardot. Legutóbbi egész estés dokumentumfilmjét, Bolshoi Babylont, amelynek Simon Chinn volt a producere, a Torontói Filmfesztiválon mutatták be.
