It’s the early 1970’s and young Rachel arrives in Israel to discover her jewish roots. She becomes a volunteer in kibbutz. But it soon becomes clear that she is not welcomed as a long-lost relative and on Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement something happens that gives the holiest day of the year a whole different meaning...
